The beach
The beach is well known for its shallow crystal blue waters and natural lake appearance making it popular with families with young children and beach lovers. A long wooden walkway runs along the back of the beach making it easy for wheelchair access or long strolls to reach the beach bars and cafes located at either end. In high season most of them are opened in the evenings offering live tribute bands on certain nights. There are local beaches close by that are less crowded for example Cala Molí and Puerto d´ Addaia, the nearby resort Son Parc on the west side and Es Grau on the east side, a famous little fishing village with a spectacular restaurant on the beachfront which is most famously known for its seafood and fish dishes.

Arenal dén Castell is a popular destination as it caters for families and couples, with a variety of larger hotels and self-catering apartments and villas. There is a range of bars, including a cocktail bar overlooking the sea, a pizzeria and various restaurants one of which serves British food. The resort also has a variety of souvenir shops and supermarkets that stock all the essentials.
A tourist train runs to all the main attractions every hour in high season from the Aquamarina and Castell Playa hotels and Na Macaret fishing village.
