Cala'n Porter

Cala’n Porter forms part of the municipality of Alaoir on the south east coast of Menorca and is only a 15 minutes drive away from Mahón airport. It is located in one of the first residential areas of the island and set atop the cliffs with beautiful surrounding unspoiled countryside and stunning views of the bay. Calan Porter consists mostly of residential villas, apartments and very few hotels. The beach is one of the most stunning and cleanest beaches in Menorca with pure white sands, turquoise blue water and natural surroundings making it ideal for young children but big enough for those who want to enjoy complete tranquility and relaxation from a beach holiday. The beach can be reached on foot or by car where free parking is provided.

Activities

Along the beachside promenade a few bars and restaurants can be found catering for a variety of tastes. The beach is home to a variety of water sports which include jet-skiing, windsurfing, flyboarding, kayaking, canoeing and pedal boats. Outdoor activities can also be booked such as scuba diving trips to visit the caves at Cala Coves where you can choose between climbing up one of the caves or snorkelling in the shallow blue waters. An ideal adventure for those who enjoy an adrenaline kick. Calan Porter is ideal for self-catering family holidays as all the amenities are close by, including three large supermarkets and some souvenir shops. In the centre of the resort, you will find a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars. Some bars will have organised entertainment such as karaoke or cocktail nights along with live music bands that can be enjoyed in the open air.

The main highlight of his resort is the famous caves ´Cova Dén Xoroi´ (known as The Caves) It is set high inside the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean sea. It is the ideal setting early evening for enjoying a glass of wine on the terraced platforms while watching the sunsets of Menorca. However, by night time this cave turns into a disco, one of the classiest on the island. There are themed nights, live music DJs making it one of the most magical attractions in Menorca.

Mahón is only a short distance away, as well as being the capital of Menorca it is one of the largest natural harbours in the Mediterranean, where you can enjoy a walk through its streets and find a wider variety of bars, ice cream parlours, restaurants and shops, both in the port as in the centre of the city. Local buses run daily to and from Mahón.

Nature

What makes this resort stand out from the rest is its location, the bay with stunning views immersed in the unspoiled countryside that extends for miles behind the beach making it ideal for cycling or walking as part of the famous nature trail ´Cami de Cavalls´. It is peaceful, set in a tranquil atmosphere and full of things to discover such as the small lake that is home to the little wild tortoises that you will occasionally find wandering around the bushes, or perhaps the early evening strolls along the bay while listening to the frogs singing.
